Guess the pumpkins contest....

FINALLY!
Dana P. got it right...
JEFF GORDAN!
Hayden LOVES Jeff Gordan...we live close enough to one of the Nascar tracks that we take her every year! Her Texas parents are doing a fine job raising a 'redneck' daughter! :-)

Another Hint: He LOVES the fast track....

one more...he is 24
even another...he's no Regis

I told you all that Brent LOVES to carve pumpkins! On Saturday after the children chose their pumpkins, he could not wait to carve them. They (okay mainly Brent) methodically picked what they wanted and he got to work! There is Hayden, Pete, Cal and Kayla to guess pumpkins for....I will even help out a little...Kayla's pumpkin is just a silly face on the top left.
I can't wait to hear your guesses (obviously, only one is going to be hard)! I don't have a prize for you but I will sure give you tons of recognition! :-)
HINT: Just glance don't study and it helps to know who some of her favorite people are....

Family/Wedding...

As I mentioned earlier, the 3 sisters went to Albuquerque for my cousins wedding! This is my moms (who's deceased) side of the family who we do not get to see as much anymore as we used to...we had an amazing time! It was fun to cut up and carry on like we always have before in the past!

Our Fall-filled weekend....

actually began on Friday night with a trip to the school Halloween Carnival! Kayla (Hayden's dearest friend who does so much with us she is like our other daughter), Hayden and Pete all dressed up in their costumes and had a blast!
Saturday Morning, we all got up and went to a nearby farm for their Fall festival! This is a picture of the strawberries that they have already planted for an April harvest!
One of the first things we did was take a horse and buggy tour of the farm and the tour guide let Hayden come up and drive the team.

Next, we took a hay ride out to the back of the farm and did 1.5 mile corn maze. We had a lot of fun.
While we waited on the tractor to come back and get us from the corn maze, Pete had to make a pit stop.
A boys dream......a combine!
It was only slightly large....
The last stop we made was another hayride to the pumpkin patch....Cal found one!
The group with their pumpkins!
Oh...what sweet faces!
Hayden decided that after we found our pumpkins that she needed a gourd.

Saturday night, we took the kids down to the gardens for the YMCA haunted trail! Pete is showing some brotherly love or maybe what he learned on the trail....sorry Molly!
The start of a special treat....
On Sunday, Brent carved all the kids pumpkins. This is his greatest love...carving pumpkins!
I will post the final result in another post...so we can play the guessing game! :-)

To be 4 again....

We have had my 2 nephews this weekend and have been VERY busy with fall activities! As a matter of fact, we are still in the middle of one those activities right now so tomorrow I will post all about the weekend! I thought the following pics of Pete needed a place of their own...typical sillies of a 4 year old!
I will return back to our trips from last weekend in a couple of days (there is still plenty more).

Food (because I'm hungry)...

There is one thing (okay 2) that you can't get on the east coast and that is good Mexican food (and beef bbque). The 3 of us girls ate Mexican food every chance we got while we were gone. I believe we had at least 'something' Mexican at least 5 times! :-)
1) The 3 sisters at lunch before the wedding...
2) one of the lunch plates
3) the other.....
4) My cousin Susan's green chili stew....YUM!!!!!

Norman (game day)....

I must first start off saying that I obviously was not responsible for the pictures on this trip therefore I am only commenting on what "I" see! :-) Brent took a lot of pictures therefore I am breaking them down into 'sections'!

1) I love this picture...she looks tired but kissable! :-)
2) The infamous Boomer Sooner car...no game is complete without it!
3) Probably the highlight of her morning....a cheerleader!
4) This is a great picture of Dad and Trish and one of the only ones where Trish looks like she's having fun! :-) (sports are not her cup of tea...she was a good sport)

5) WTF.........(excuse me...girl I don't know...the 80's called and they want their clothes back!)

Old Town...

Although I was a young girl when we lived in Albuquerque, I still have vivid memories of Old Town! It was smaller then I remember but the atmosphere was the same...
1) The Navajo Indians selling their handmade jewelry on the sidewalks....
2) Pepper strands decorate everything....
3) The oldest active church in Albuquerque is located in Old Town.
I love the architecture!

Split weekend....

This last weekend was unusual for us because we were on separate vacations. My sisters and I went to Albuquerque for my cousins wedding and Brent and Hayden went to Norman, OK for the Oklahoma football game! I have plenty of 'stuff' to blog about this week so stayed tuned....
