Vermont and Maine....

Hayden and I spent last week taking a little journey of New England with the grandparents.
We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer.
Other then the fact that is was unseasonable cooler then normal,
it is a BEAUTIFUL part of the country.

We arrived Monday early evening in Burlington, VT.
This is a great view from Burlington looking over Lake Champlain and the Catskills.
I would double click on this to see all the detail since it is a wide shot.
Looking back towards Burlington...
I should clarify now that it rained 2 of the 5 days we were gone so I didn't get to take
as many 'scenic' photos. Sorry...

We spent a day in Woodstock, VT. This is a really neat village.
Here's Pops 'shopping'....
One of the many covered bridges that we saw but the only one
I took a picture of... :-(

Between Woodstock and the New Hampshire border lies the Quechee Gorge,
"Vermont's Little Grand Canyon".
In this picture, we are standing on a bridge looking down 165 ft.
(yes, I only had my zoom lens on at the time...
I would hate for you to be as scared as I was looking down)
another shot...straight down
We then drove to Ogunquit, Maine. I loved this village!
The weather was perfect while we were there.
Great pic, Gramma!
Overlooking one of the bay areas....
A pretty house...oh and how about the purple Bentley!
Pops and Gramma...
The flowers were EVERYWHERE and they were AMAZING!
Just pretty...
The next day we drove up the coast.
"Walker Point" in Kennebunkport - The Bush compound.
Activity at the compound....the guy in front with the lighter blue seems to be
one of the sons (not Jr.) from some of the other pics I took.
Waiting patiently while I photograph 100's of the next picture...
This was still in front of the 'compound'
the boat in view in George Sr. little toy...
St. Ann's Rectory
worth double clicking...
a view from the front steps of the church...
inside the church...whole thing was stone
great colored walls in New England...
Kennebunkport village...
Back in Vermont....
Time to visit ole Ben and Jerry's!
They have a 'graveyard' for all the flavors that didn't survive!
A 'view' from the backside of the building.
My little peace sign loving, free-spirited, would have been a hippie child!

Sorry to be so disappointing with the pictures...I actually took over 600 but most of them were of flowers! I was really enjoying them. We spent a lot of time in the car and not much time stopping. It is a beautiful place and would recommend it to everyone!

Mountains, streams, waterfalls, colored barns and silos till your hearts content!

A little journey...

I will be absent for this week due to the fact that Hayden and I are going on a trip with the Grandparents to Vermont.

Lots going on around our house...namely a new business venture!

When I get back, I will have lots to share with you all.

Enjoy your vacation from me! :-)

In case you didn't know...

She's 12 going on grown!

She is the light in my day
and
the thorn in my side!

She is beautiful, amazing, sweet, loving, giving
and
has an evil twin!

She has a heart of gold
but
can be as cold as ice!

She is one of the smartest people I know
but
loves to play dumb!

She is strong willed, head strong and persistent
and
will drive you crazy!
(not to mention...genetically inclined)

She is hard to anger
and
quick to forgive!

She will try most things once
but
is the pickiest person I know!

She loves to form opinions before a situation arises
but
is willing to admit fault!

When you go above and beyond this list,
the daily joys and shortcomings
of being 12...

You suddenly have the
the BEST thing about her....
(in case you didn't know)

She's mine!

To say that I was shocked is putting it mildly...I still don't believe it!
Don't wake me...I like this dream! :-)

4th of July in the Mountains....

We went to Charlotte for the weekend and on Saturday we drove up to the mountains for the day. The weather was great and a good time was had by all. It has been a few years since we have been up to the Blowing Rock area so it was great to be back and really would love to go spend a little more time up there....SOON! :-)

I was anxious to have the opportunity to take 'the camera' on this journey! I hit a milestone while on this trip...I have taken 10,000 (over now) photos with my new (December) camera! You think I like it? I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy taking them. :-)

Red, White and Blue...everywhere!
Cool pic...looks like a flower
Fun...
Cute... :-)
The Mast Farm in Valle Crucis, NC.
(Remember this Dana G?)
Inside the Mast Farm...such a cool place!
The back porch of the Mast Farm...the guy in the middle is dancing!
A quaint church on the side of the mountain.
One of my favorites of the day...a view from inside the church.
Probably my most favorite pic of the day! ;-)

Pops and Gramma in front of the church.
and my other favorite of the day.
Beautiful view...
Great fireworks...
A perfect ending to a perfect day!
