Playing Picasa vs. Picasso....

about a year ago...

i had
zero camera skills
no blog
and relied on the honey for pictures

6 months ago...

i had a new best friend, point and shoot
blogging under my belt
and little skill with picture manipulation

today...

i once again have zero camera skills
(thank you fancy new camera)
ability to blog with my eyes shut
and
the ability to completely manipulate a picture

i guess i have come a long way in a year...
at least by my standard
but i still HATE to have my picture taken!

therefore, I have taken an okay picture of me (i think)
and used all my new found
skills to create
something that I
actually like

and i guess in the end...
that's all that really matters. :-)

Behind the masterpiece....

We have an amazing photographer (Hi Steve!) that we have used for the last 12 years. He has documented the life's of all the children in our family! Today was no exception...time for the family shoot and it came with all the usually challenges!

Buildings...

The architecture is amazing in Charleston. When you take the carriage tours, you learn so much history about the buildings. The city has had adversity over the years and it is just incredible that they still stand.

At the request of my dear friend Dana, I am posting pics of our home. We live in a very old house (1959) that had some rooms added to it by the previous owners. You will see that I LOVE color! I'm not afraid of it! All the room colors are actually from the wallpaper in the dining room. The first room (really2) is the den/family room or sun room which is what I call it.

Bug of the week...(sorry Gramma)

Actually, it is a spider and it looked like a piece of corn! The camera could not focus on her because she was well camouflaged.
Memaw is out of town so it maybe days before we know what she is...
In the meantime, enjoy her beauty! :-)

Side note: Memaw (MIL) loves to research the bugs and Gramma(step-mom) can't stand to read about them. It's hard to keep all happy. The bug thing was really an accident but now I keep finding things I have never seen in my 42 years!

Boring...
