Free clothes...

Twice a year, I have a traveling ladies boutique from Charlotte come to my house and set up. I then invite all my friends to come shop. It's a lot of fun and I try clothes on for 3 hours non-stop! They have stuff in 4 rooms of my house. As with any home party type of show, I get a % of the sales back in free clothes. It never fails that I always buy my fair share also....

My free stuff this time...2 shirts, pair of jeans, sweater/coat,
2 necklaces and a pair of earrings!

Pet sitting...

We have some friends who just got a new puppy and asked Hayden if she would take care of him overnight for them. He is a miniature longhair dachshund and is so pretty we keep calling him a her! :-) I tried to capture his 'cuteness' but he is a puppy! I also recommend enlarging them and looking at his pretty markings.

Piano piece - Part 1

Hayden started taking piano lessons one year ago. She is progressing quickly and memorizes all the pieces that she plays. Her piano teacher made the comment to me the other day that most people give up when faced with syncopation but she is determined. This is the piece that she will be playing in November for her fall recital. She has the first part memorized and it is obvious where she has to go back and start looking at the music. She just played it all the way through for the first time a week ago so I thought it would be fun to document her progress. I wish I thought of this before she got the syncopation down and it was driving her crazy! :-) Enjoy!

Camp Greenville

By Brent: Sorry for the multiple days without a blog post, that would be my fault as I was suppose to put up an entry.

Last week I went to a camp with Hayden's entire class, about 20 6th graders, 4 boys and 16 girls. Everyone had a great time. The camp was up in the NC mountains and it was a wonderful setting. The kids learned a great deal about themselves as well as each other. There were lots of challenging situations and everyone had to learn about getting into their "yellow zone" which is where you confront a freighting or uncomfortable situation, and learn from the experience. There were several time they were in their "red zone" which is a very scary situation for them. Below are a few pictures to enjoy.

I find them extremely fascinating! Click on these and make them bigger.

Project picture #1

We are on the brink of a fairly big project at our house in the next few weeks. It is going to involve my mudroom and laundry/bathroom. We know that it will require putting new tile down (Brent does the tiling). On Saturday, we stopped by the habitat store and found these 3 buckets of thin-set. They had been dropped off by Lowe's and had been there a few weeks so they were FREE!!!!! My kind of bargain! :-)

Our favorite game....

Quelf has been a huge hit in our house this last year! I highly recommend it for families with older kids! Hayden and Kayla always wanna play when they together at our house. They have a website so you find where to buy it. www.quelf.com
Let me know how you like it....
Below is an example of stuff that was going on:
1) Hayden couldn't use her hands
2) Kayla had to keep a snorkel in her mouth the rest of the game made from something in the house hence the straw
3) Brent had to keep pointing to pretend objects on his forehead and asking if anyone knew anything about them
and 4) Brent and Kayla had to hold hands because they were sharing a space on the board
These are just a sampling of the crazy stuff you do!

Is it your turn?

When I cracked my head open in March, the first thing they did before anything else was give me my tetanus shot! Next month, it will have been 10 years since I got my last one! Now with that said, we realized that Brent was due also because we got ours on the same day that year. The story doesn't end yet because this is also the year that Hayden is due for hers also. As of this afternoon, I am proud to report that all 3 of us have now had our tetanus booster.
(I should also report that Hayden had an 11 year old well check up {okay, 7 months late} today and the results are that she is perfectly NORMAL! and healthy!!!! Just in case you were wondering!)

My question back to you...are you due?

No pics tonight...I was to busy holding the hand of the shot recipient! :-)

I guess they pass....she laid down and didn't start biting at the corners!
I will limit my crazy cat posts to one a week! :-)
