Favorite hobby.....

For years....my favorite thing to do has been get up on Saturday morning and go to yard sales! Today was no different! Hunting a bargain is always fun! :-)

Wow...they are moving!

Hayden got her braces 11 weeks (April 22) ago! I can't believe how much they have moved!
She goes at the end of July for her 3rd visit and we will find out then when the bottom ones go on.

The calm before the storm...

We had thunderstorms move in last night. I loved the way the sun was lighting up the edge of the clouds.
It was very hard to find the right setting on the camera for this shot.

The blog might be quiet this week because Hayden is spending the week with her grandparents. That, of course, makes for a boring home! :-) I miss you, Hayden!

The family band...

Hayden and I got Brent a Wii and Rock band for his birthday and he brought it to Charlotte so we could try it out with the family. There are 4 connected instruments but as you can see we had a 2nd singer in the group (Pete). He was using his snorkel. :-)

Talent Show...

After dinner and before the fireworks, we were entertained by the children. This video is about 3 mins. but it is really funny. Each of the boys have their own little personalities and love their Hayden! Oh, you probably can't see it in the video but they all have make-up on (as in blue eye shadow)!

Fireworks show...

We came to Dad's (in Charlotte) for dinner and fireworks. We were on our way to the lake for the show and realized the neighbors were doing a very large fireworks show of their own so we just watched those....Brent was the camera man tonight and we got to use the 'fireworks' feature of the camera. They have some fun details if you enlarge them.

Last swim lesson...

Hayden got stronger as the week went on and her strokes improved greatly! My favorite part of swim lessons as a child was always on the last day when we got to improve upon our water entry....enjoy!

Two this week...

We have had cousin Pete this week. He was not very cooperative with pictures like he was at the beach. The second one is a fun one of Hayden.

She has an eye also...

We went to a ballgame last night and Hayden walked around with the camera and this is what she took! Pretty awesome picture! I think it looks like Africa for some reason....

It finally came in the mail....

We took family pictures at the beach with a photogragher and it arrived today.

Day 2 of swimming...

Teaching an old dog new tricks....

Hayden has been a 'swimmer' since the age of 2 (holding her breath, going in the deep end, diving for sticks) but she has never been a swimmer (as in knowing any stokes)! She has always been just happy with her way of swimming (under water like a mermaid) for the last 9 years. After many years of swim lessons and just as many years of her stubbornness, we are attempting it yet again! We got lucky this year and she has one on one instruction (I guess that is because most 11 year olds know how to swim)! Can she actually learn to do some real strokes? Is there hope? I doubt she will be swim team material but maybe in 3 more days she will actually know the 'art' of swimming! :-)

Wow...my computer skills are growing! :-)

Do you see what I see?

Everyday when I sit on the front steps I look at one of the large oaks in my yard and it just strikes me as funny! Do you see the face? The top two knots are the eyes...the one that sticks out is the nose and the one with the black mark looks like he has his mouth cocked sideways whistling or side smiling?!?!?!?! See it?

Friday night swim....

Hayden and her friend wanted to go to the pool tonight. The nice part was they had the whole pool to themselves!

Passing another milestone...

Hayden is completing her last year of Vacation Bible School. It's hard to believe that she is now to 'old' to attend! :(
