Bug of the week...(sorry Gramma)

Actually, it is a spider and it looked like a piece of corn! The camera could not focus on her because she was well camouflaged.
Memaw is out of town so it maybe days before we know what she is...
In the meantime, enjoy her beauty! :-)
Side note: Memaw (MIL) loves to research the bugs and Gramma(step-mom) can't stand to read about them. It's hard to keep all happy. The bug thing was really an accident but now I keep finding things I have never seen in my 42 years!

My kind of day...

I had school meetings today in a couple of different places so when I finished I hit my local grocery stores and Target for the clearance items! These are my favorite days...
*yes this is all stuff someone in my house will eat
*yes I checked the expiration dates
* yes I know it's not all Eco-friendly (I'm sure someone would say that)
Anyway, I got 68 items for under $50! Everything was at least 50% off(I did not pay over $1.50 for anything)!
BTW, I don't eat Ramen soup...I use the noodles in my salad!

I hate this day...

Twice a year I have to do a job I detest, cleaning out Hayden's closet of the clothes that no longer fit! Not only is it depressing but exhausting...I guess the cat doesn't want the clothes to go either!

Try this...it's fun!

You Are Tennis

You are highly competitive and driven.

You're in it to win, and you will keep going until you do.

You crave fame, success, and the envy of others.

This is who I am! I took this idea from a fellow blogger (thanks Kristie)! It seems like a fun idea! Click on the above link "What Olympic Sport are you?" and take the quick 5 question quiz and it will give you the results. Please share your results in the comment box! Have fun....

Butterfly central...

While we were in Helen on Saturday, I saw LOTS of butterflies! Of course the bug picture taker in me couldn't resist the opportunity to do some 'up close and personal' with my pals! The question is...will the bug researcher resist researching especially the yellow one! Enjoy...

Day Trip...

We took a trip to Helen, GA yesterday! It's a neat little German like town in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.
Picture 1: a windmill
Picture 2: part of the village of shoppes
Picture 3: The purpose of the trip..to "tube the hooch"
(Chattahoochee River that is)
All of us at the beginning...ready to get on...it was the last time we were all together! (until the end)
Picture 4: Pete chillin....he was tethered to his Mom!
It took us 2 hours to ride down the river...it sure was fun!

2nd time around...

Tonight our friends took the plunge and tied the knot. This is a second marriage for both. It was a very nice service and I hope 8/8/08 is good to them! Congratulations Elizabeth and Darel!

This butterfly was flying around my front porch this morning and he was begging me to take his picture... so I did! Memaw, is this a particular type of butterfly?
Same butterfly..just one picture with the wings up and one with them down!

Complete...

Hayden had her bottom braces put on yesterday and now we have what is called a 'full' set! Last Thursday, she had a new arch wire and a 'chain' put on the tops (see how the blue rubber bands are all one piece?). She is about the most pain tolerant person I know! After the chain was put on they said she would be in pain and need motrin therapy and she just said her teeth felt loose for about an afternoon as she ate her normal lunch! What a trooper! We are now @ 18 months away from completion!

New blog...

My friend (Hi Dana!) recommended a new blog for me today and I have put it over to the right under the "Must Visit". It is the funniest thing I have ever looked at....this girl is so funny I had to quit reading because I was laughing so hard I was crying! I hope you find it as funny as I do!

While I am plugging blogs...my dad is also blogging! It is also found to the right under "Pops Pontificates". While this will probably not be considered 'light hearted' like the above blog, you might find it interesting enough to spar with him! :-)

Have a great night and I'll 'see' you tomorrow!

Bug of the week...

Can someone give Jan (my MIL) a run for her money and name the bug before she can?
I'm learning a lot about the creatures of the world! :-)
This one was on the car this morning when we were leaving for church...I had to run back in and get the camera so I could take a picture needless to say we were then late for church!

Mondo flowers...

I looked out in the backyard this afternoon and saw a sea of purple! For the first time in 9 years, our mondo(monkey) grass was blooming! It covers the edges of our entire back yard so it is quite a site!

Juicy Couture....not just yet!

Hayden decided this afternoon to pull out her sewing machine, my left over various fabrics and her dress form. She whipped (serious...like 30 minutes total) together this skirt and decided to wear it the rest of the day! No hems, elastic or straight anything....
Did I mention that she has wanted to go to the Fashion Institute? To be 11 again...
