Thomasina loved the plant that sat in this plant stand so much she killed it! She took a nap on it everyday...so I removed the plant on Sunday and this is what she did last night while I was cooking dinner! I should have taken a video because it was hilarious!

At the request of my dear friend Dana, I am posting pics of our home. We live in a very old house (1959) that had some rooms added to it by the previous owners. You will see that I LOVE color! I'm not afraid of it! All the room colors are actually from the wallpaper in the dining room. The first room (really2) is the den/family room or sun room which is what I call it.

Thomasina (sorry if you don't like cats - and yes I should have just a Thomasina blog) never eats much at meal time (I feed the cats twice a day). One day I was doing laundry and found out why she doesn't....and I caught her again today just didn't get the beginning when she does her 'unlocking' magic! Enjoy...

Poor Brent...

Brent has an autoimmune disease that causes his back to have severe spasms when he is in a flare. Anyway, they come on without any warning and will put him to the bed for 2-4 days. They have even been so bad some times that he has had to have physical therapy. Hopefully this will not be a 'really' bad one...
I have moved the laptop into him and given him an 800mg Motrin and now he's content (probably the fact he can catch up on facebook now!).

is the motto of Thomasina! She is crazy...there is nothing she has not explored! Tonight while Brent and I were watching TV, she decided to hop in Hayden's backpack and harass Greta (the dog). She curled up after this and took a nap in the bottom of the bag. I tried to get a picture but they were all blurry.

Tis the season...

We live in hurricane country! We are preparing for Hanna although it looks like we will just get wind and rain from her. We will be on the east of her which is the non-tornado side. I think she is just prepping us for Ike!

This is Fergie! She's our Border Terror (yes, I said terror not terrier). She was long overdue for a visit to the groomers but she's been now and feels much better!

Labor Day party...

Brent and I played host to the 1st annual neighborhood block party last night. We had about 16 houses show up with their side dishes, chairs and drinks and we provided the hot dogs. It was a great time. It has been nine years since the last neighborhood party so it was well received. I am very pleased and proud of our efforts. :-)

Cash Crop #1....

We live in a very rural part of the state and with that comes lots of farming and cash crops. Since this is the time of year when harvesting takes place for most of whats grown around here, I thought we would play a game of 'guess the crop'. This one is for the 'non' deep south visitors, please! I will post the crop at the bottom of the pictures later today. Have fun...
