This butterfly was flying around my front porch this morning and he was begging me to take his picture... so I did! Memaw, is this a particular type of butterfly?

Is it butterfly day? My butterfly was more orange and yours more black...maybe the California sunshine??

Holy crap, that was hard!! It is the red spotted purple(Limenitis Arthemiszcis Astyanax) or the red spotted admiral. I've looked at so many butterflies and moths, I don't even like them anymore. LOL
